About the programme

This apprenticeship is a unique opportunity to learn and become qualified in all aspects of stock control within the controlled Parts warehouse, picking and packing spare parts ready for distribution for the repair and maintenance of airport ground service equipment – earning whilst you’re learning,  this a great introduction to a career in within aviation, where you will be fully trained in computer logistics and stock control systems.

 You’ll be trained on all aspects of the day to day activities that surround stock movement, stock recycling and warehousing.

Safety is of the utmost importance, so you will be given protective equipment and clothing. You need to be flexible and adaptable to different shift times, and be happy working indoors and outdoors, whatever the weather.

With extensive training, support and the hands on experience you’ll gain, this programme will give you everything you’ll need to gain the Apprentice Vehicle Parts (VRQ) City & Guilds level 2 qualification.

The role

  • To carry out tasks relevant to receipt, store, issue and record the traceability of materials, tools and equipment and all activity associated with a stores environment
  • To provide efficient and proactive warehouse support
  • Develop skills, experience and knowledge through class based coursework and hands-on practical work as part of a recognised qualification
  • To be responsible for the safety of yourself and others, using necessary protective equipment (PPE)
  • Good practical skills, with a keen interest in warehouse logistics, with the ability to carry out efficient warehose service

Desired Qualifications Five GCSE at grade A*-C (9-4) or equivalent, including English, Maths, Science and IT, although consideration will also be given to those who fall below the qualification requirement, but demonstrate exceptional levels of interest and aptitude.
