Assistant Accountant - Sydney


The TCR Group, headquartered in Brussels, is the leading provider of turnkey solutions in the field of total GSE management. The Group is active since 1999 in the Services and Provision, the Repair & Maintenance (R&M), and the Fleet Management business of GSE.  The GSE term encompasses all equipment used by handlers providing ramp services to airlines, with motorised and non-motorised GSE including push-back tractors, loaders, tractors, belt loaders, catering trucks, ground power units and air starter units, tow-bars, trailers-dollies, and baggage carts. 


The Assistant Accountant is part of our highly valued finance team. Reporting directly to our Finance Controller and mentored by our senior team members. Your knowledge of accounting principles, management accounting and attention to detail and drive, will contribute to the continued success of our growing Australian and New Zealand Business.


  • Ensure the accurate and timely recording of general ledger data 
  • Strong understanding of accrual and prepayments
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and variance analysis
  • Management accounts to be completed within 3 business days of month end 
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts 
  • Preparation of BAS
  • General Administration
  • Preparation of creditor payment runs and bank uploads
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Ad hoc financial and analysis projects 
  • Ensuring process and controls are complied with
  • Assistance in year-end close 

Position requirements:

  • Degree Qualified (Bachelor of Commerce or similar degree)
  • 3-5 years’ experience in assistant accounts/management accounts 
  • Previous experience in rental and equipment maintenance will be highly regarded but not essential.
  • Communicates effectively with colleagues, managers in different states, customers, vendors
  • High attention to detail and the ability to be proactive is a must
  • Being able to work autonomously as well as in a team environment 
  • Hands-on experience in excel spreadsheets and willingness to become efficient with our accounting software  
  • Proficiency in English and Intermediate to advance Microsoft Office particularly in the use of Excel (PIVOT tables, formulas)
